Practical Strategies for Implementing Asset Management
The practice of formal asset management is still in the early developmental stages throughout North America, and to most the concept is relatively simple and the need for it is clear. The reality is that a fully functional and sustainable asset management practice is a complex “eco-system” involving the finely tuned integration of knowledge, skills, people, processes and data/information systems across multiple organizational boundaries. This complexity can overwhelm an organization making it difficult to know where to start.
This presentation will take a look at the essential elements of an asset management framework, and examine several practical strategies for public sector organizations to consider in order to kick-start their asset management implementation.
