Benefits of Membership

The Alberta Chapter offers a variety of services to its members, including conferences, workshops and luncheons with guest speakers. The speakers range from information system professionals in the utilities industry to academics and those who use IS tools in their jobs. Topics range from the technical (on geopositioning models), to the use of GIS as a tool in the planning profession, to examples of pilot projects in the municipal or provincial sphere.

Luncheons (with an invited speaker) are held a minimum of two times in each of Calgary and Edmonton. These luncheons provide the Executive and membership with an opportunity to develop and maintain contact with others who are involved in the IS industry.

So why join URISA Alberta? Membership benefits include a reduced rate at local luncheons, and a discount rate at the annual conference held in Edmonton or Calgary. The luncheons and annual convention provides opportunities for you to interact with colleges who have a similar professional interest.
